Jamari Staples is from Lineville, Alabama and graduated from Clay-Central High School. He is a former collegiate wide receiver known for his impactful performances at the University of Louisville. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 195 pounds, Staples began his college football career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). During his freshman year in 2013, he played in 10 games, starting eight, and recorded 31 receptions for 458 yards and four touchdowns. In 2014, he added nine catches for 190 yards and one touchdown over nine games. Following UAB’s decision to shut down its football program, Staples transferred to the University of Louisville in January 2015. In his junior season, he played in 10 games, starting seven, and amassed 37 receptions for 638 yards and three touchdowns. His senior year saw him participate in 12 games with 11 starts, securing 36 catches for 615 yards and two touchdowns. Over his collegiate career, spanning both UAB and Louisville, Staples totaled 113 receptions for 1,901 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Jamari is married to Ceralyn Staples with their 6 year old son Karter and daughter Kaisley.
