Bio

Cord Sandberg, a native of Bradenton, Florida, attended Manatee High School, where he was a standout athlete in both baseball and football. In his senior year, Sandberg chose to forgo a football scholarship to Mississippi State and was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies as the 89th overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft. He went on to spend six years playing professional baseball. After retiring from pro baseball, Sandberg transitioned to football, where he played quarterback at Auburn University. Following his graduation from Auburn in 2020, he finished his collegiate playing career at Eastern Kentucky University.

In 2022, Sandberg began his coaching career at Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky, where he coached wide receivers. He then returned to Bradenton, Florida, to join IMG Academy, where he coached running backs for the 2023 season. Sandberg started coaching and teaching at Moody High School in the Spring of 2024.

Cord and his wife, Haley, have two sons: Grayton (3) and William (1).
